About the organization
An India where every woman lives with dignity, financial independence, and freedom from discrimination and violence.
Disha was born in 2012 from a legal aid camp organized by women lawyers for survivors of domestic violence. Recognizing that legal help alone wasn't enough, founders expanded to holistic empowerment — today we support 25,000 women annually through 6 program verticals.
What we do

Operating 5 legal aid centers providing free legal counsel, police assistance, and court representation to women facing domestic violence, divorce, property disputes, and labor exploitation.
Six-month skill training courses in 12 trades including beauty therapy, computer skills, food processing, and garment making, with placement support and entrepreneurship seed funding.

Completed nationwide campaign teaching 10,000 women digital banking, UPI payments, government scheme enrollment, and financial planning skills.

May 2026
This year, our shelter homes and rehabilitation program supported 500 women who survived domestic violence. 78% secured gainful employment within 6 months, 92% reported improved mental health, and 45 women reunited safely with their children after securing legal protection orders.
Jan 2026
Our ₹50,000 micro-loan program, combined with business training and mentorship, helped 800 women launch successful small businesses ranging from tiffin services and tailoring to mobile repair and digital marketing. Average monthly income increased from ₹3,000 to ₹12,000.
